Today I am fasting. No strenuous exercse, but I'll go for a walk this afternoon.
---
I broke fast Sunday night, but I finished a day-long fast on Monday. Turns out it's a lot easier to fast when you're not at work, and around people asking you "when are you going to eat?" all the time. :)

I have tried fasting before, but I can't seem to do it. It is hard to do when caring for young kids... or I am just weak.

Enjoy your walk! I love walks the best! Do you have a pretty place to take walks?

Actually, I'm probably just going to walk around the courtyard of the building where I work. :)

It's difficult for me to fast anymore. When I was in college, I would fast as long as two weeks a year. Then I got married, and my wife decided that it was "silly." So, any time I started, this woman--who never cooked, because she told me that she couldn't make anything but peanut soup--invited all of her friends over for "cooking parties" to make dim sum. Eventually, the hunger from fasting combined with the novelty of actually having food prepared in the house would overwhelm me, and I'd break my fast.
I'm trying to build back up from my old basics...

Well, fasting is not silly at all. (Do you do it for prayer, or health, or both?) I am sorry that your wife did that to you.

Sometimes I fast from chocolate or tv! :O

Both--and don't bother trying to apologize for my ex-wife; you'll be at it for a long time!

:*(

What is "dim sum" anyway?

Chinese dumplings. Very tasty... and very fragrant!

I couldn't look at the pic without a password... :(

...sounds yum though! Chinese food is good... but I like Mexican better. :O

I can make a delicious Romanian dish called Sarmale. (a kind of stuffed cabbage roll)

lol

Uh oh! I just realized I shouldn't be talking to you about food! Sorry, G.P.!!! :/

Heh.

That's okay; I'll find something to occupy my mind when I get home. :)

It is prob much easier to fast when you are just by yourself.

Like I said, I can't do it while caring for a Hub and kids... I still have to cook and everything.

How long would you fast at one time, if you were all alone? I think it is amazing that you went all of Monday and then still made it to Sunday night!

I plan on making two-day fasts part of my regular monthly schedule. Nothing like what I used to do in college!

Well, what is the longest you have ever fasted? And how the heck can you fast in college anyway, when you have to study and stuff?? :O

The longest I fasted was 14 days. I would fast over Christmas break, so I didn't have much homework.

:O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my!!!!!!! During Christmas... when there was so much good food avaliable??!!!! Most people are getting fat at Christmas! Oh, I bet your family gave you a hard time. That is truly amazing, G.P.! I am sure some kind of good blessing must have come from such a fast....
